Registration for Lane County Teacher Substitutes

Lane ESD maintains a list of approved substitute teachers on behalf of Lane County school districts, with the exception of Eugene 4J, Springfield, and Siuslaw School Districts. To apply to be a substitute teacher in these districts you must contact these districts directly.

In order to substitute you must have a valid Oregon Teaching License. Oregon teacher licensure requirements are available at Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC).

Individuals who are interested in registering as a substitute are encouraged to review the overview of the process and other information located in the Lane County Teacher Substitutes Q & A.

Substitute Registration

The registration process is for licensed teachers who have not previously registered, who have been removed from the teacher substitute list, or who wish to expand the district preferences.

There are five registration periods for the 2022-23 school year:

  • May 2nd - July 22nd
  • July 23rd - September 16th
  • September 17th - November 18th
  • November 19th - January 20th
  • January 21st - March 17th

Please note: Applicants will not be contacted by Lane ESD until the week after the registration period has ended. The online application link for Lane County Teacher Substitutes is active only during the open enrollment dates listed above.

Registration involves three steps.
