Web Accessibility Principles and Practices
|Date(s):||November 7, 2018|
|Presenter:||Jonathan Whiting and John Northup, WebAIM|
|Audience:||School or district website content managers and/or creators, district administrators|
Web accessibility is the inclusive practice of removing barriers that prevent access to online content. Though it primarily helps people with disabilities, all users benefit from correctly designed and edited websites and information. Public school and district websites are also required to be compliant with web accessibility standards and risk legal penalties if found in violation.
In this one-day workshop, WebAIM, a leading authority on the topic, will teach web accessibility principles and fundamentals, as well as provide hands-on training for creating accessible materials using Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat. If you create and/or post content on your school or district website, this is a critical and valuable professional development opportunity.
If you have a laptop, please bring it for the hands-on portion of the training.
|Lunch:||Lunch will not be provided.|
