| Fees: | For teachers who work in Lane County districts or in a member district of the Lane County Title III Consortium, there is no cost to attend the training. |
| Goals: | Improve instruction of English Language Learners in content area classes. |
| Description: | The Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) was developed by top researchers in the field of second language acquisition. SIOP is a lesson planning and lesson delivery model that is designed to provide effective sheltered instruction for English Language Learners (ELLs), but it is also beneficial for a wide range of students. |
| Prerequisites: | None. |
| Lunch Provided? | Lunch will not be provided. |
| Notes: | Title III can cover substitute costs for teachers in non-Title I or Title I Targeted-Assistance schools. For teachers in Title I School-Wide schools, districts must use Title I, Title IIA or general funds before Title III funds can be used. PLEASE CONTACT THE TITLE III DIRECTOR IN YOUR DISTRICT BEFORE REGISTERING. |
