The purpose of this course is for leaders to learn how to zero in on high-leverage teaching strategies that make a difference in student learning. This course includes examination and use of a common language and concept system, the development of skills for classroom observation, and the capacity to identify and provide results-oriented reports and feedback that are credible and convincing.

Four major strands are woven together throughout each session and in the field-work experience:

  • Studying high-leverage areas of the knowledge base on teaching and applying it to your own work
  • Developing communication skills
  • Examining and experimenting with multiple data sources
  • Defining high standards and expectations teaching and learning
