Attendance and Truancy Services

RFP Posting

Lane Education Service District's period for receiving proposals for Truancy Supervisor Services for Lane County has closed.

Two responses were received: Mark Barr, Sole Proprietor and Mike Whitney, Sole Proprietor, Whitney Investigations. Each proposal was sealed, complete and received within the bidding window. Bids were opened on May 9th, 2012, at 1:00pm (as stated in the RFP) and evaluated using a common matrix. This was performed by a four-person committee. The committee included Carol Knobbe, Michell Martin, Julie Simmonds and Randy Trummer. Evaluation was completed by scoring RFP compliance and Specifications. Scoring was completed on the Weighted Criteria described in the RFP.

Based on the evaluation and scoring process results LESD intends to award a Truancy Officer Services contract for 2012-13 to Mark Barr. See the summary portion of LESD's RFP evaluation for details.

Attendance/Truancy Services provides assistance to Lane County public schools with tracking truant students. In collaboration with a private investigator, truant students are located and efforts are made to return them to classrooms. Assistance is also provided in referring persistent truancy cases to the Lane County Juvenile Court, Lane County Justice Court, and Services to Children and Families.
